Our members' aircraft
We are proud to hangar a variety of aircraft ranging from vintage taildraggers and war birds, to modern factory built aircraft. Follow a link to view a few of our member's fantastic flying machines and other interesting aviation related items.
The reserved button to the left of this paragraph is reserved for you, and your aircraft.Send me images and a story about your aircraft, and we'll create an exclusive page. High resolution and good quality images welcome.
Photographic history and archive
We currently have a small database of about 400 images featured in "The Gallery", and are always looking for images relating to our club's members, aircraft and places visited. I have set a challenge target of 600 new images between our 200 club members to be submitted by year end 2006 - that's only 3 images per member. Subject material we're looking for include:
Historic:
- Jack Taylor - portrait, family, personal history
- Who "cut the ribbon" marking the opening of HMS Krugersdorp?
- Airfield - early days, 1st hangar, tarring of the runway etc
- The Tower - who built this, when?
Events:
We currently have 2 club events featured in the gallery. What was the first fly-in, who attended, what type and number of aircraft? Who has entered the State President's Race, what nav rallies have been organised, and who won the wooden spoon?
Aircraft
Bought, owned, built, restored, flown, crashed, burnt - whatever. All submissions and stories accepted
Getaways
Where have you been? Who went with you? Where did you get fuel, and when did you go?
Crashes
Although we don't like talking about this, this is part of our history. Submissions for this section will be used with discretion and will only be used with family members' concession. This is also an educational warning to "the bold".
Do you have a friend who can scan negatives, or prints and save them to disc, and donate to the club?
Other aircraft
This page also features links to other interesting sites relating to flying. If you have an interesting link, and want it to be shared, please send the link to the webmaster.
The first of these links is to have a look at the incredible B2 photo series by Richard Seaman, taken at the 2005 Edwards AFB airshow. The images are large, and load times may be slow. Please note that the photos may be downloaded for wallpaper use in a private capacity only. Click here to read his terms and conditions.
The current theme will revolve around military aircraft, and we require your links or images of these special aircraft. Send your info to the webmaster
